the DL Chronicles
The DL Chronicles tells
the stories of men of color who by consequence and by choice, live sexually
duplicitous and secret lifestyles. Narrated by aspiring journalist,
Chadwick Williams, as he pursues research while authoring a book about
MSM (Men who Sleep with Men) aka ìThe Down Low, we enter into
a provocative and intriguing world of sexual discovery, denial, betrayal,
love and loss.
From a highly desired successful executive to the street corner hustler, from the happily married father of two, to the college athleteís first love, each episode will delve into the different lives and experiences of DL Men of Color across social, cultural, and economic boundaries.
The
"Down Low" is a slang term for African-American men who identify
as being straight, but secretly engage in sexual activity with men.
They date women, have children, and often marry in an effort to appear
heterosexual to the public. More than just closeted, they do not identify
as Gay or Bi-sexual and refuse to be associated with the Gay lifestyle
or community.

The Closet:
New on DVD Series for Gays and Lesbians
The CLOSET is a soap opera formatted dvd-Drama
Series produced by Senwot Nella Productions. "Portraying the role
of Zachary Sledge is somewhat difficult…sometimes I feel art is
displaying my life. I just want men who are on the downlow to see our
products, look within themselves and analyze the way they are living
their lives," stated Kevin Allen.
With AIDS and HIV running rampant among women and teens, especially
within the African American Community, it is imperative individuals
are educated regarding the spread of this deadly disease as quickly
as the disease itself is spreading. SENWOT NELLA PRODUCTIONS, an independent
film company located in Atlanta, Georgia, has released a dvd-Drama Series
entitled, The CLOSET to help with the spread of education.
Viewers may subscribe to The CLOSET just as they would a magazine. The
CLOSET's purpose is to educate all of society, but mainly African American
women, by focusing on the lives of several gay characters, their happy
times and sad times, their successes and their failures. Some women
will learn more about their boyfriend, male lover, or even husband by
watching these twenty six informative episodes.

Androgene
Born and raised
in Northern Nigeria, Androgene, a shy and introverted child was already
showing signs of bearing a special gift. She began singing at the age
of 6 and by 11 had joined the local choir where she remained an active
member for 6 years. At age 13, she had hosted a notional teenage talk
show and acted in several student movies. By the age of 17, Androgene
had moved to London to further her education, obtaining her bachelor of
arts degree in social policy and administration as well as starting her
master of business management degree. She then moved to Los Angeles. Upon
her arrival, Androgene sucessfully completed the degree, and took on the
role of manager at a Beverly Hills art gallery. These were not enough
for Androgene though, as Hollywood had re-ignited her longtime dream and
passion for entertainment. With a quiet confidence and a look so unique
that it could stop a train, this multi-cultural singer/songwriter, actress
and model is destined to make a huge and lasting impression in the entertainment
industry.

On The Low:
"On
The Low," a short film, explores the emotional consequences of a
hush-hush intimate relationship between two African-American high school
boys. It tells the story of a young man, Ty Evans, coming to terms with
his sexuality and the inner conflict he experiences. The true extent of
Ty's relationship with his classmate, Kevin Banks, begins to trouble him
when the boys get into a schoolyard shoving match.
As the tension between them escalates, Ty realizes what began as innocent
curiousity and experimentation has blossomed into something deeper.
